Oscar Beauty Trends

The #spring 2014 runways were a bouquet of vibrant palettes and our fave Celebrity Makeup Artist, Trendee King, is translating those looks into her clients’ #AcademyAwardsRedCarpet style.

Springtime Flush:

“I’m absolutely in love with the bold, vibrant mattes featured on the catwalks of Rag and Bone, Monique Lhuillier and Nicole Miller, and I will definitely recreate these looks on my clients for the Oscars this weekend,” says King. King swears by Starlooks’ Cream Blush in “Merlot” ($17, Starlooks.com), a matte, raspberry stain that can be worn on lips and cheeks. “It looks like the most natural flush that still packs a punch and is totally versatile.  You can lightly stain your lips or pack it on for that power lip.  No matter how little or how much you apply it feels like nothing on your lips.”

All In The Eyes:

Metallic is always in abundance when it comes to spring trends and King loves a metallic eye. “Golden and rose gold smoky eyes are an electrifying, yet, sophisticated trend that we will see on the Oscar red carpet,” continues King. “For my clients, I will use Tarte cosmetics’ “Shimmering Bronze” Amazonian Clay Cream Shadow ($19, Sephora) as a base and dusting Benefit Cosmetics “It’s Complicated” Longwear Powder Shadow ($20, Benefit Cosmetics) on top to mimic a geological gem.”

Glowing Complexion:

For luminous skin, King uses Hourglass Foundation Veil Fluid Makeup ($60, Hourglass Cosmetics). The super-luxe medium coverage treatment, is a foundation featuring powerful anti-aging actives to create the appearance of younger-looking skin – perfect for a red carpet debut.
